Privacy Statement
De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) treats any personal information it receives through its website with due care, operating fully within the framework of the Dutch Data Protection Act (Wet bescherming persoonsgegevens / Wbp). DNB has drawn up this privacy statement to advise you of the type of information that DNB gathers through its website and what this information is used for.
Visitor data
DNB's webserver logs session information including the pages accessed, the duration of the visit, the type of browser and the type of operating system used. The session information recorded cannot be traced to any individual and is only used to produce statistics. The resulting statistics are solely intended to evaluate and improve the DNB website.
Cookies
It is possible to order publications through the DNB website. To avoid you having to provide the same personal information if you place several orders during a single visit, the data you enter is stored on your computer in a session cookie. A session cookie is a small file stored on your computer's hard disk, which is automatically erased when you close the link to the DNB website.
Personal information
Some services you can access on the DNB website, such as applying for jobs, sending in questions, ordering publications, registering for DNB's news service, require you to provide personal information. DNB only uses this information for the purposes for which it is intended. DNB will never send you any unsolicited information or offer unsolicited services. Your personal information is not passed on to any third parties. The law provides a number of exceptions here: the information may be used for criminal investigations where the site has been used to do any act or make any statement constituting an offence.
