Art and society

DNB's art collection contributes to society in various ways. For example by providing a stage for young and talented artists in its Art gallery, by lending works to other exhibitions and by commissioning works from artists.

Commissioned work

In 2014, to celebrate DNB's 200th anniversary, three artists – Cristina Lucas, Sarah van Sonsbeeck and Berend Strik – were invited to visit the gold vaults. Each of them compiled an exhibition inspired by their visit, and the Art Committee acquired the works they created for this exhibition.

DNB also cooperates with other art institutions. In previous years, DNB worked together with the Dordrechts Museum, the Centraal Museum in Utrecht, Museum Ons' Lieve heer op Solder in Amsterdam and the Hilversum Museum.

Founder and partner

DNB is one of the founders of the Dutch Association for Corporate Art Collections (VBCN) and the International Association of Corporate Collections of Contemporary Art (IACCCA). DNB is a partner to various organisations, such as the Rembrandt Association, the Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten and the Mondriaan Fund.
