De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) is responsible for compiling the Dutch balance of payments and the Dutch International Investment Position. For that, data are collected periodically by making inquiries of groups of reporters selected by DNB.

This section was designed to support these reporting institutions with their reports on the balance of payments, the International Investment Position and other statistics, such as the Statistics Netherlands (CBS) sectoral accounts.

As of the reporting of the 1st quarter 2022, we will introduce the Macro Economic Statistics Reporting (MESREP). This will change your current (balance of payments) reporting via e-Line BB to DNB. You will have to start reporting via the Digital Reporting Portal (DLR) with a new set of forms. This is a major change and we advise you to start preparing now. If you want to report for multiple entities you will need to request eHerkenning chain legal authorization from your provider. This allows an entity to authorize another entity to report on their behalf. The current representative role will be eliminated. The application for chain legal authorization may take several weeks to process. This notice does not apply to managers of investment institutions. They do not need to have chain legal authorization to submit reports for investment funds.
