Implementation Act expected to enter into force on 18 May – request registration with DNB

On 21 April, the Dutch Senate adopted the Act implementing amendments to the Fourth Anti-Money Laundering Directive. This means that the Act, including delegated regulations, will soon enter into force. The Ministry of Finance intends for the Act to enter into force on 18 May 2020. We would urge you to request registration with DNB as soon as possible. If you do so before 18 May, you will benefit from a transitional regime. Read more

Under the new legislation, your company must also register if it provides services for the exchange of virtual and regular currencies, or offers custodian wallets in a professional capacity or on a commercial basis in the Netherlands from another EU Member State, irrespective of whether it is also registered there.
