630 - Expropriation and restitution of jewish property in the Netherlands 1940-1999: findings of recent investigations

This report describes the development of the public awareness of the second world war in the Netherlands. Gradually the persecution of the jews rose in importance. The Dutch commissions which investigated between 1996 and 1999 the postwar legal redress of the stolen assets of the Dutch jews are part of an continuing process of reconciliation with the inconceivable horrors of the German occupation.
