- When savers move their deposits to another bank, differences in interest rates usually play a decisive role: they transfer their savings to the banks offering the best rates. In times of crisis, however, differences in interest rates no longer seem to be a decisive factor: while savings mobility increases, the deposits are transferred to the banks perceived as safe. This emerged from DNB research.
