De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) has commissioned The Leiden University Institute for History to conduct an investigation into  DNB's historical links with slavery. An investigation team comprising Karwan Fatah-Black, Joris van den Tol and Lauren Lauret will look at DNB's role in its early years, as well as the role of its presidents, governing board members and senior executives at that time. The investigation is expected to be concluded in the second half of 2021.  We will then decide on any further steps to be taken.
