Kees Goudswaard (Leiden University) appointed to the Supervisory Board of De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB)

The shareholder of De Nederlandsche Bank, the State of the Netherlands, has appointed Leiden University professor Kees Goudswaard as a member of the Supervisory Board of De Nederlandsche Bank as of 1 October 2012.

Mr Goudswaard was appointed Professor of Applied Economics and Head of the Department of Economics at the Law School of Leiden University in 2000. He has also been a Special Professor of Social Security since 1995.

Among other additional positions, Mr Goudswaard was a Crown Member of the Social and Economic Council of the Netherlands from 1994 to 2008 and was also a member of its Executive Committee from 2000 to 2006.

In 2010 he chaired the commission which advised the cabinet on the future of the pension system.

His extensive knowledge of the Dutch pension system and the parties involved, public finances and social economic issues is highly relevant to De Nederlandsche Bank.

Mr Goudswaard studied General Economics at the VU University Amsterdam.
