08-04-2011 Bazel III migration

In 2011 preparations will start for the introduction of Basel III, the stricter successor to the Basel II capital framework for banks. On 15 March 2011, DNB sent out an update to the Boards of banks under DNB’s supervision. Preparations include the drafting of a migration plan and the launch of regular (semiannual) monitoring of every bank’s capital buffer, leverage ratio, liquidity coverage ratio (LCR) and net stable funding ratio (NSFR), to be used as indicators of banks’ progress towards implementation of Basel III.

Submission of a migration plan and monitoring templates will be facilitated by the creation of a reporting requirement in e-Line DNB which will allow documents and templates to be submitted as attachments over the secure connection. At a later date, DNB will provide further information regarding the submission of the documents and templates.
