13-07-2009 Change in classification of European Investment Bank (EIB)

For the minimum reserves reports, the European Investment Bank should be classified as ‘credit institution’ in the ‘euro area’ and no longer as ‘international organ’ (in 'rest of the world’). This applies as of the reports on end-June 2009 and results from decisions made within the European System of Central Banks. The 'List of MFIs, subject to minimum reserves' as published on the ECB website has been adjusted accordingly; it now includes the EIB. The List of MFIs serves as the basis for the classification of MFI counterparties in the euro area.
