Steven Maijoor joined DNB’s Executive Board in 2021. His portfolio includes banking supervision, supervisory policy and legal affairs. Since February 2024, he has also served as Chair of Supervision within the Executive Board. In addition, he plays an important role in European and international fora in the field of financial supervision, including the Supervisory Board of the European Central Bank (ECB).

“DNB is a distinctive public institution, firmly rooted in society and entrusted with a broad range of responsibilities. Over the past years, I have worked with great pleasure and conviction on strengthening supervision, and I am very proud of what we have achieved together. This has only been possible thanks to the many talented and dedicated colleagues at DNB. For me, a new phase is beginning, in which I will focus on non-executive roles. The chairmanship of the Trustees of the IFRS Foundation will be the main part of that portfolio,” said Steven Maijoor.

Martin van Rijn, Chair of DNB’s Supervisory Board, said: “We are very grateful to Steven for his valuable contribution to DNB. With his broad experience, authority as a leader and international network, he has played an important role in the further development of supervision. We congratulate Steven on this appointment and wish him every success in the next phase of his career.”

“Steven will be greatly missed as a highly valued colleague. He has served DNB, and the supervision of banks and other financial institutions, with great expertise and dedication. His contribution to the quality and effectiveness of supervision has been of great value,” said Olaf Sleijpen, President of DNB.

Over the coming period, the Supervisory Board will focus on Steven Maijoor’s succession within the Executive Board. DNB will communicate about this succession at a later stage.
