Find a policy
Suppose you are absolutely certain that your father once took out funeral insurance. His health is declining, and he’s getting forgetful. You want to know about his insurance cover, but he can’t remember a thing, and there’s nothing in his records. Don’t worry. You can check for yourself whether he has insurance and with which insurer
with the search service for lost policies, run by the Dutch Association of Insurers. Please note: it may take up to three months for the search to produce results, although the lead time is often quicker.
Find your insurer
If you can no longer find your insurer’s name anywhere, it may have changed its name. This can happen when two insurance companies merge. For example, Aegon Netherlands was recently taken over by ASR. Aegon policyholders are now automatically covered by ASR.
If you are unable to find any information about the current name of your insurer, DNB can help you find out the name of its legal successor. Call 0800 020 1068 (freephone in the Netherlands) or +31 20 524 91 11 (if you call us from abroad), or email info@dnb.nl
Below is a list of the names of insurance companies that people most frequently ask about.
