Previously delayed EBA xBRL-CSV filing rule now in force with immediate effect

Within the EBA reporting framework 4.2, the EBA Filing Rules version 5.8 apply. This version introduces new validation rules for xBRL-CSV reporting. For one of these rules, the entry into force was initially postponed by the EBA, but it is now being applied with immediate effect. We request that you apply these rules in your submissions.

No {table}.csv file for negative filing indicators

This rule specifies that, when a filing indicator is negative, the corresponding {table}.csv file must not be included.¹

The ECB has activated this rule as blocking in its systems with immediate effect. In line with this, DNB is also applying this rule as a blocking validation rule. Reports that do not comply with this rule will no longer be accepted.

We advise you to adjust your reporting processes accordingly.

Other filing rules related to xBRL-CSV

The EBA has introduced several other filing rules that specifically apply to xBRL-CSV reporting. These rules are included in the EBA Filing Rules V5.8 document (pages 59–65), available on the EBA website.

To support institutions, DNB has also published an overview of common issues related to xBRL-CSV reporting on DLR.
