The ‘Securities holdings in Dutch sectors’ dashboard provides an overall view of holdings of debt securities, listed shares and investment fund shares in various sectors. It also shows a breakdown by geography, i.e. from which geographical region the investments of Dutch sectors originate.
The ‘Securities holdings of Dutch households’ dashboards focuses only on Dutch households, providing a detailed picture of asset classes.
Securities statistics are produced based on the reports submitted by financial institutions with a reporting obligation from various Dutch sectors.
Aggregate figures across all Dutch sectors are based only on reported data, without an extrapolation for institutions that do not report. The reporting institutions represent at least 95% of the entire population’s securities holdings.
Dashboard data specific to Dutch households include an extrapolation, in which data for any missing population is estimated based on the available reference data.
This difference in methodology means that figures on household securities holdings may differ across both dashboards. We recommend using the dashboard on household securities holdings to obtain data specific to households.
