Examples of SFI are:
- holding companies of (mainly) foreign companies;
- finance companies that typically extend loans to foreign group companies and are themselves financed mainly from abroad.
Special Financial Institutions
Institutions that meet with the definition of Special Financial Institution (SFI) are obliged to register at De Nederlandsche Bank. You can find the definition of SFI here: Balance of Payments Reporting Instructions 2022 RI 2022).
