Processing of banknotes and forgeries

We are committed to supplying clean, undamaged and genuine euro banknotes and we combat counterfeiting. Our responsibility includes checking used banknotes for counterfeits, damage, and soiling. We process personal data when we receive applications or notifications about banknotes.

Damaged and soiled banknotes
If you have damaged euro banknotes, you can apply to us for compensation for the corresponding amount. To do so, you can complete and sign an application form. Send this, together with the money, by post, or visit our exchange counter. We process personal data to settle applications for compensation.

This personal data processing is necessary for the performance of our tasks in the public interest (Article 6(1)(e) of the GDPR). 

Provision

Counterfeit banknotes
Using an application form, you can send suspect and counterfeit euro banknotes to us together. Alternatively, you can visit our exchange counter. For the handling of these banknotes, we process personal data.

Cash customer service counter
We assist private customers (individuals and companies) with requests relating to cash. Regarding these, checks are carried out, in particular to prevent money laundering.
