Finance minister Steven van Weyenberg nominated Salden on the recommendation of DNB’s supervisory board. She is to succeed Else Bos, who stepped down as a member of the Executive Board and Chair of Supervision with effect from 1 February 2024. Steven Maijoor, Director of Banking Supervision since 2021, has been the Chair of Supervision since Bos’ departure.

Salden (b. 1968) has had a long career in both the public and private sectors. After serving as head of International Economics and Financial Institutions and head of Financial Stability at the Ministry of Finance, she was appointed acting Treasurer-General in 2011. She has been the CEO of BNG Bank since 2018. Salden studied economics at Erasmus University Rotterdam.
