Money, finance, the economy: that’s what we are all about. De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) seeks to safeguard financial stability and sustainable prosperity. Our more than 2,500 employees, with all their diverse talents and social commitment, work hard every day to make this a reality.

We have a range of tasks. We are the custodians of the gold of the Netherlands. We issue euro banknotes. We ensure that financial institutions have sufficient cash on hand and comply with the rules, and we take action when this is not the case. We also implement European policies for stable prices, meaning inflation of around 2%. We conduct research, exchange knowledge and ideas, and we advise the Dutch government. By doing so, we promote a healthy financial system in which everyone can make payments, borrow, save, invest, get insurance and build up a pension with confidence. And this in turn promotes sustainable prosperity. For everyone in the Netherlands, both now and down the road.
