New section for crypto service providers on Open Book Supervision
DNB updates Open Book on Supervision with a new section for crypto service providers. It is expected that from 10 January 2020 onwards crypto service providers – i.e. firms offering services for the exchange between virtual and regular currencies, and providers of custodian wallets for virtual currencies – will come under integrity supervision by DNB.
The information describes the registration process and the various requirements crypto service providers have to meet, including assessments, the Anti-Money Laundering anti-Terrorist Financing Act (Wet ter voorkoming van witwassen en financieren van terrorisme – Wwft) and sanctions regulations. This new section offers guidance to parties preparing to offer crypto services. The information on Open Book Supervision is not static and will be complemented and updated.
