In a world full of uncertainty and instability, it’s reassuring to know that some things remain reliable – like solid data. That’s why we work hard to keep our statistics as useful and relevant as possible. But we can’t do that without your help. What our statistics cover
At DNB, we collect and update data on a wide range of topics. Here are three key areas we focus on:
1. Understanding the Dutch economy
Our statistics offer insights into the state of the Dutch economy. Depending on the type of data, we update them at different times throughout the year. For example, the Dutch balance of payments statistics are updated quarterly and show how much money flowed in and out of the Netherlands over a three-month period.
2. How much do Dutch people save?
Are households saving more or less than a year ago? Each month, we calculate how much money Dutch households are saving, how much interest banks are paying, and how much is held in payment accounts. You can explore these insights in our monthly updates.
3. Sustainability and financial risks
Sustainability is playing an increasingly important role in the economy. We collect data on the financial risks of climate change, such as how exposed financial institutions are to climate-related events. Are they investing in carbon-intensive companies? Or in firms vulnerable to floods, storms or droughts? We also maintain a sustainable investments dashboard that tracks how much Dutch companies borrow for environmentally or socially responsible projects.
