Cash desk closed for exchanging money between 18 December 2024 and 12 January 2025

Due to relocation our cash desk will be closed from 18 December 2024. You are welcome to exchange money at our office at Frederiksplein 61 in Amsterdam from 13 January 2025 onwards. This can only be done by appointment after you have submitted an application.

Collector coins

Collector coins always have a different value from regular euro coins. For example, there are €5 collector coins. If you wish to exchange a Dutch collector coin for euros, we will be happy to help at DNB. You will receive the face value of the coin. You will, for example, receive five euros for the silver €5 Bosch coin, meaning that you will not be compensated for the additional value that the collector coin may have. For special coins you can usually get a better price at a coin dealer or online market platforms.

Applying for an exchange

To apply for an exchange, we ask you to complete a form, You can either submit your application online, or use a paper form. You can submit your money to DNB in two ways: by post or by visiting our office in Amsterdam in person. There are different options for different amounts.

If the amount does not exceed €450, then you can send us your money together with the paper application form or contact us to schedule an appointment to hand in your money in person at our office in Amsterdam.
