Dutch deposit guarantee scheme register

The deposit guarantee scheme protects the money held in Dutch bank accounts. This automatic protection is from 1 cent to EUR 100,000 and applies per person, per bank. Should a bank go bankrupt, DNB will ensure that you get your money back. Read more about the Dutch deposit guarantee scheme.

Under "Statutory name / Trade name”, the register shows the list of Dutch banks protected by the Dutch deposit guarantee scheme and the various trade names they use. Many banks operate under a single name, but there are also banks with several trade names. The maximum amount of EUR 100,000 applies per person, per bank. The money in all your accounts with the different trade name branches of the same bank must therefore be added together. This total amount is protected up to EUR 100,000 per person. 

Is your bank not listed in the Dutch deposit guarantee scheme register? Then the money in the accounts you hold with this bank is not protected by the Dutch deposit guarantee scheme. This is because this foreign bank operates in the Netherlands through a branch or direct services. Banks from countries in the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway participate in that country’s own deposit guarantee scheme. In these cases, too, your money is subject to protection similar to the Dutch deposit guarantee scheme. Your bank will have more information about the foreign deposit guarantee scheme in which your bank participates.

Then enter a name or part thereof in the “Statutory name / trade name” search field and click on Search. If you are unsure about the correct spelling of a firm’s name, use an asterisk (*) for part of the name. If you leave the search field empty, your search will produce the full list. If you then click on a search result, you will see the details for that firm.
