Register of reinsurers
Below you can read exactly what a reinsurer does. And what you can find in the register. Finally, we will explain how you can search the register.
What does a reinsurer do?
An insurer or pension fund can ask a reinsurer to insure part of the risk the insurer or pension fund has taken on, for example, for damage or death. A reinsurer does not provide services to consumers or other companies, but only to insurers and pension funds.
What can you find in the register?
Reinsurers wishing to operate in the Netherlands must have a licence from DNB. The register lists all the reinsurers with a licence.
How do you search the register?
In the first box, select a type of reinsurer. In the second box, type the name of a reinsurer or part of the name, and click ‘Search’. You can also leave this box empty for the full list. When you click on a search result, you will come to a detail page with more information about the reinsurer.
