Section 1:107 of the Financial Supervision Act (Wet op het financieel toezicht or Wft) provides that there must be a public register of payment processing service providers. It must be clear from the register from what date a payment processing service provider may conduct its business and what activities it may perform.

The register must also contain information about any restrictions imposed in respect of the activities and about the state in which the payment processing service provider has its registered office. All authorised payment processing service providers (and other financial undertakings) are therefore included in that register.
