Licensing and supervision
The provision of financial services – such as savings – requires a licence. DNB and the Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM) are the supervisory authorities responsible for granting such a licence. Supervision reduces the risk of something going wrong, but it is not a guarantee. If a licensed credit institution fails, you will get your money back up to a maximum of USD 10,000 under the deposit guarantee for the Caribbean Netherlands.
