DNB has the statutory duty to compile the statistics underlying the Dutch balance of payments and the international investment position. To this end, DNB we designate reporting entities that we ask to submit financial information at regular intervals. We maintain and update the population of reporting entities partly through close monitoring of media reports.

We ask potential reporting entities to complete a population survey form and use the information collected to decide whether a reporting requirement is necessary. The instruction letter we send states which population survey form must be completed.
