Additional data quality checks in XBRL

As of the June 2022 reference period, we will perform additional data quality checks in XBRL. This refers to data quality checks performed on CRD reports in addition to the validation rules in the EBA taxonomy. The checks, in the form of a XBRL-Formula linkbase, are published at the same time as the quarterly publication of the additional data quality checks and are included in a separate tab in the quarterly publication.
The results of these checks are fed back via DLR in the Excel document that also contains the results of the validation rules in the EBA taxonomy.

We will start with a limited set of data quality checks in XBRL, and are considering transferring more additional data quality checks to XBRL in phases. These are data quality checks in the area of consistency that relate to data within a single report. All other checks are published and carried out in accordance with current practice.

We expect that you will be able to implement these XBRL controls more easily and quickly, and that you can perform them simultaneously with the validation rules in the EBA taxonomy before submitting your reports to DNB.

If you have any questions about the implementation of these checks in XBRL, we recommend that you contact your IT department or software supplier. Please email any technical questions to XBRL@dnb.nl. For other questions, please contact your regular contact person at Expert Centre on Supervisory Banking Data.
