De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) charges a fee for handling applications for the authorisation of exchange institutions.
The application fee applies regardless of whether DNB approves or rejects the application. It also applies if the applicant withdraws the application in the meantime or if DNB ceases consideration during the procedure.
The fee for consideration of an application for authorisation as an exchange institution is €4,400. This one-off fee is specified in Section 5 of the Regulation on the funding of one-off supervisory actions (Regeling bekostiging financieel toezicht eenmalige handelingen).
DNB also charges exchange institutions an annual fee to cover the costs of our on-going supervision on exchange institutions.

Previous DNB policy statements may be read to mean that, in the context of sanctions screening, not all relationships must be screened. This is an incorrect conclusion, and DNB will therefore amend the relevant policy statements shortly.
