DNB Toorop aan het water

From today, savers at Amsterdam Trade Bank (ATB) can get their savings back, up to €100,000 per person. This means most account holders will regain access to their savings within a few business days.

Over the past few days account holders received a letter informing them about the Dutch deposit guarantee scheme. Starting 27 April, the nearly 6,000 foreign account holders, most of whom live in Germany, can submit the enclosed form through the DNB website (Account holders living outside of the Netherlands (dnb.nl)) to apply for their compensation. The form is also available for download.

Compensation is equal to the total of the balances on all accounts held at ATB, including all interest accrued until 21 April 2022, up to a maximum of €100,000 per person. Customers will receive their compensation as soon as possible after submitting the form.

Applying for additional compensation for a temporary high amount

Customers who held a temporarily high amount in their account(s) that is directly related to the purchase or sale of a home are eligible for additional compensation of up to €500,000 per person. This protection is in addition to the regular protection of up to €100,000 per person.

DNB has made an application form available for customers who wish to claim the additional compensation. Banks do not separately administer temporarily high amounts that are related to the purchase or sale of a home, which is why customers must submit an application.  They can download the application form, complete it and submit it with supporting documents to DNB.

DNB supports applicants

On Friday 22 April 2022, DNB decided to activate the deposit guarantee scheme for ATB’s account holders. DNB administers the scheme on behalf of the Dutch government. Customers who held one or more accounts at ATB, which traded under various names, including FIBR, are eligible for compensation.

Account holders can find more information on the application procedure and all related provisions On the DNB website www.dnb.nl. They can also contact the DNB Information Desk on business days between 9:00 and 19:00 at telephone number 0800 020 1068 (free of charge in the Netherlands) or +31 20 524 9111 (from abroad).
