DNO application procedure (10 steps)

Factsheet

Published: 19 July 2017

The statutory consideration period for a DNO application is 62 business days. The consideration period starts on the first business day after DNB has received the complete DNO application (all required information).

After receiving your application, we will first verify whether you completed the form in full and attached all required documents. If your application is complete, you will receive confirmation and the consideration period starts. If your application is not complete, we will ask you to supplement it within a specified deadline. The consideration period will not start until we receive the lacking information. See also: How long will it take to consider my application for a DNO?

10 steps

The DNO application procedure breaks down into ten steps. We may for instance ask you to provide supplementary information (suspending the deadline for consideration) and schedule a meeting to discuss the details with you. We have prepared an overview of the steps you need to go through.

Standard of your application

The time we need to consider your application greatly depends on its standard and completeness and on the supplementary information that you provide. If this is insufficient, we may need more than 62 business days to come to a decision. This is because the consideration period only commences once we have received the information that is still lacking, or because we suspended the consideration period in connection with a request for supplementary information.

Success factors

We have listed a number of success factors that will help guarantee a smooth consideration procedure. Please let us know if you have any other tips and recommendations that we may add to the list.
