The External assets dashboard shows the financial interconnections between the Dutch economy and that of other countries. The presence of special financial institutions (SFIs) substantially increases the volume of claims and liabilities. The net external assets represent the balance of Dutch claims abroad and foreign claims on the Netherlands. It can be broken down into the balance of direct investment, the balance of securities, the balance of financial derivatives, the balance of official reserves and the balance of other capital abroad.
